Description

The Platinum metal detector is the top of the line model from Bounty Hunter. It has the highest specifications and has been made for serious treasure hunters and elite users. It is packed with an intuitive menu system and DD search coil.

The Platinum offers both audio and visual target identification, digital depth indicator, LCD display and more.   • Hello, Is this unit water proof and if so how deep ? I live not far from a old gold area , so should I be selecting this one or another more suited to gold. Although I would also like to be able to also surch for other materials as well. Thank you, Craig

    Hi Craig,

    Thank you for your question. So the Bounty Hunter Platinum has a waterproof search coil and shaft. The control box is not waterproof so that can not be submerged. You can detect in  water at the depth of the shaft keeping sure to keep the control box dry.

    As for gold. The Platinum, while being more of a treasure hunting detector can indeed find gold. But as it has a low frequency range it can struggle to find smaller nuggets. 

    If you are not in a rush to get a detector that is great for gold as well as everything else then I would suggest the Teknetics G2+ which will be back in stock in approximately 2-3 weeks. With covid19 we have had a few delays getting stock from America.

  • What is the weight of this unit? Will it be light enough for my 12 year old daughter?
